This
is a short introduction to me, my influences and some general
idea of why this site exists. Always swore I wouldn't write something
like this but I got bored late one night.
 I
was born in February 1981 in England where I have lived all 22
(as I write this) years of my life. I have a BSc (bachelor's of
science or whatever it stands for) in Computer Science (that's
a degree) and I'm currently unemployed. My job hunting abilities
are very poor and the opportunities are slim. This site serves
no real purpose, it is merely an outpouring for my head. No it's
not a huge Blog. There are a few creative works that are quite
central to my way of thinking - Salvador Dali, Transmetropolitan
(and the writings of Warren Ellis), Preacher, Fight Club (the
movie and the book), Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas (the book
from the insane Hunter S. Thompson) and Spider Jerusalem for he
is real and will kill us all. Oh yes. The name "The Word"
is an obvious tribute to the newspaper of Transmetropolitan (you
haven't read any? I shall be at your house in 10 minutes to rip
out your heart). I have just seen someone on TV even more nerdy
than me and I think I wish to kill him. I love cats too. Still
trying to establish how that "defines me as a person".
Heh.
I have an unhealthy obsession with Gundam, a Japanese animation-based
sci-fi franchise. I also have a love for comics, which these days
resides more in the aforementioned adult-works over the superhero
volumes of my earlier years. When it comes to this website I write
about what I love (or loathe) and I try to be honest and at least
vaguely useful. I have no pretensions about my ability to write
- I know I'm not completely shit but I also know I'm not a well
written voice of the net. Still, if I keep hacking away it's bound
to get better right?
If you read my site then I pity you but hope that it proves either
amusing, marginally diverting, informative or at the very least
readable (barely). If you have something to say to me then please
feel free to e-mail away.
If this page is one of the first things you read here then don't
worry, the rest of it is better written than this.
