Yes,
one of my current big pet hates. You've all met them, they seem
to be especially abundant on the Internet where it's important
to be cool because hell, we wouldn't want people to know what
we're really like now would we! Yes, they're one step above the
moaners. They won't moan without prompting. They don't just start
whining about things. Oh no. Whenever someone expresses an opinion
(good or bad) on something, say a game or a film, then the Trendy
Jaded People will chirp up. Inevitably they won't like it. Depending
on their vocabulary (usually limited) the description will be
something like "<insert thing> sucks!/<insert thing>
is shit!/Yeah I've <insert action> <insert thing>,
it was ok at first but meh it sucks now". You'll notice they
will have real problems initially expressing their "opinions"
in a literate manner. It will take someone with some actual backbone
and personality (the latter is severely lacking in Trendy Jaded
People) to try and put across the point of view that the "thing"
isn't actually that bad.
Now
the problem is that Trendy Jaded People really don't like anything.
You have to praise the very internet they pollute when they actually
express a like for a certain thing. However you can bet your ass
they will be hating it by the end of the next quarter or when
another Trendy Jaded Person decides to voice their distaste for
the item, thereby putting the other Trendy Jaded Person at risk
of loosing their "coolness". Sadly there are so many
of these vapid sub-humans that they all think of each other as
cool or cutting edge when they express their incompetent opinions
on things. I figure all these saps will eventually do one of two
things: discover religion - yes, add to the diseased masses of
one organised religion or another, or kill themselves - they will
discover that literally nothing in life retains any enjoyment
for them past a month and decide life has no worth. To be honest
I'm kind of hoping they take the latter path...
Remember
kids, liking things is not wrong. Have strength in your convictions,
remember anyone who doesn't agree with you is more than likely
wrong. Or on the path to religious enlightenment...
