Gundam Alex (RX-78NT1 Gundam G-4 Alex) MSiA - 25/11/02

Well this was my first, given to me by my friends on my 21st birthday. Best to start by mentioning this is a more expensive Deluxe toy - which is the same height but as you will quickly realise is well worth the extra cash. First off then the basic suit. Oh my god is the first thing that springs to mind. The detailing and structure of the mech is amazingly well done and accurate - easily comparable to a model kit. We're talking detail to the point of having every individual tiny thruster moulded, and there are a lot of them all over the suit! The colouring is tremendous - very neat & accurate and the lack of panel lines doesn't detract at all from a very slick appearance. Now every limb is detachable and fully articulated, even to the point where the backpack comes off and the saber handles both come out. This is easily the most posable one I have, with fantastic freedom of movement around the legs underneath the sensibly movable skirt armour.

All that's left then are the accessories, which would just be a couple of weapons and a shield right? Wrong. It comes with a complete set of full armour which locks onto the toy very snugly and neatly - making it look precisely as it did with the full armour in the anime. As if that wasn't enough the blue gatling covers can be popped off easily and the gatling guns attached (the cover then goes back on top for the open gatling) to both arms. The shield is, erm, great (it's only a shield obviously!) though it is a bit hard to get it to sit stably in the hands. Speaking of hands, there are two right hands that can be interchanged, one for beam saber holding and one for rifle holding (the left hand is always a saber/shield hand). The rifle fits in snugly, as do the sabers. Yes it comes with two lovely and long beam sabers. Overall you really shouldn't be without this!
