Matrix
Revolutions - Movie
Ahhh yes, the "love 'em or hate 'em" Matrix sequels.
Well, to give you an idea of my opinions on the franchise until
this point - Matrix 9.5, Animatrix 8, Reloaded 8.75 (having rewatched
the lot the day before seeing this!). With Reloaded I enjoyed
it first time around at the cinema but I found it even better
when watching again on DVD. I expect the same will be true with
Revolutions. It's a good end to the trilogy. It doesn't stand
on its own quite as well as the other two films but it's still
very good. The very ending, from the resolution of the Smith/Neo
fight onwards, doesn't quite work. I could see what they tried
to get across but I don't think they quite succeeded. Until that
point though it was a very good film to watch. It provides interesting
visuals, interesting plotting and interesting ideas right up until
the end, which is what a good sci-fi series should. The sequels
were never going to match the originality and excellence of the
first film but as a trilogy the lot has been excellent. Go &
see it and make up your own mind, but hopefully you'll enjoy it
as I did.
