Bruce Almighty - Movie

Yes it's a Jim Carrey movie and for every one person that enjoys him on screen there are two that hate him. I've personally enjoyed (to some degree or other) most of his movies that I've seen, at least on the first viewing, so I thought I'd check this one out. And it was funny. No it's not the best comedy movie ever but it isn't a bad one either. Carrey does.. well basically his usual over the top comedy character. Jennifer Aniston is, to be honest, just Rachel from Friends again but her character is suitably bemused by the events of the movie. It made me titter, chuckle and laugh out loud. Sure the ending is rather cheesy but hey, this is a Hollywood movie!

Downsize This! Random Threats From An Unarmed American
by Michael Moore - Book

This was Michael Moore's first book (yes, I read them in reverse order and sadly finished Stupid White Men a week before I decided to do these reviews) and his best. That's not to say the other two weren't great but this one is the most polished and scary of the three. Yes, scary when you realise some of the crap that goes on in the "civilised world", even if it is in a country across the ocean (for me). He's a bit more controlled in his anger here and better at getting his point across. It is more sobering than the other two books but it still made me laugh out loud at least once per chapter. Even if you don't agree with his opinions, you'd have to come away from this and at least say "wow, that stuff really happens?".

9/10
