Kill
Bill Volume 1 - Movie
Ahh yes, the new Tarantino flick at last. After loving Reservoir
Dogs & Pulp Fiction but finding Jackie Brown rather tired,
I had a kind of nervous hope for redemption in Kill Bill. As anyone
who hasn't been under a rock for the last few months knows, this
is the man's attempt to blend all his cult and B-movie influences.
He succeeds. It's a wild and energetic blend of crazy martial
arts movie action as Uma Thurman tracks down the other hired killers
who shot her on her wedding day five years previous. Kill Bill
oozes style, though a different kind of style to that which you'd
expect from a Tarantino film. The action is slick and the dialogue,
though less than usual, is still punchy and Tarantinoesque. I
expect to enjoy this even more when I watch it for a second time,
on DVD, but first time around it's an excellent beginning to a
two part movie experience. Roll on part two I say.
